TRAVEL: A day in Fujairah

Fujairah is a 2 hour drive from Dubai and it was a perfect place to do a whole day trip. This time I went with 2 of my colleagues whose day off matched with me, and it was somehow spontaneous for me because I was asked just 2 days before and I just agreed and next thing I know, I was packing for the trip!

We began the drive out of Dubai around 11:40 am and reached Le Meridien Al Aqah at around 02:00 PM. It took us more than 2 hours, with a petrol station stop over for snacks and whenever the GPS got confused, we did too, but good we didn’t exactly get lost along the way.

You know you’re near your destination when you see these mountains and we just had to stop by the side of the road to take photos!

As soon as we arrived, we went straight to Al Boom Diving Center to make the necessary arrangements for snorkeling. For AED 157 to be exact, it included all the equipment which is of course not bad for a water adventure.

Ps. Before anything else, I would like to apologize in advance that this post might actually disappoint you because there are no underwater photos.

The boat ride was just so satisfying that I wish it was longer! I just love the breeze on my face and the tiny splashes of water too. Ughhh I swear I can be a mermaid in my next life.

The snorkeling adventure took about an hour and a half and to be honest, it wasn’t much. I mean, it was good to be under the water and the few times I did snorkeling before, it was in the Philippines and the views under water were majestic! I was able to see schools of fish but was not impressed by the corals. I enjoyed the experience and being in the water made me so happy of course.

We headed off to lunch at the Beach Bar where we had the most pleasant meal after such an exhausting activity. The staff were very accomodating and the food was definitely yummy! As I was with a colleague that blogs about food, we were given an amazing service that we were also greeted by Chef Raju and Eman, the supervisor made sure we had all that we needed.

After having our late lunch at the beach bar, we just got dressed and headed out of the hotel to our next destination.

Our next destination was Patatello Cafe, which was a 40 minute drive from Le Meridien Al Aqah. They’re known for their “Cup of Pineapple” (Photo on the right). I ordered just the Nutella Belgian Waffle and it was good too!
